Surgery Information

About the Practice

Marsh Medical Practice was established on 1st July 1996 and was taken over in 2015 by Dr Carl Deaney.

We operate across two sites, North Somercotes and Manby. We aim to provide appointments in the surgery located at the individual patient’s preferred location, however, you may be asked to travel to our alternative site if necessary.

We cover a large part of Coastal East Lincolnshire from Tetney, to South Thoresby and from Louth and its surrounding villages to the coast.

Our goal is to deliver high quality healthcare which is safe, effective, caring and responsive to the needs of our patients by following current best practice recommendations.

We pride ourselves in providing the best possible service in the most suitable environment. To that end we have extensive training and development programmes. We endeavour to ensure that service disruption is kept to a minimum and we appreciate your understanding regarding this.

If you are booking a routine appointment (or requesting results) please call later in the day to free our telephone lines up for urgent appointment requests.

Non-emergency and routine appointments are available to book in advance. A range of times and dates are available. Download our leaflet to ensure you make the most out of your appointment.

Telephone consultations

In some cases, a telephone appointment may be more suitable for you. In this case, please phone reception and they will take your details and arrange for the most appropriate member of our team to call you back. Please note that where appropriate, information is entered on to the relevant clinician’s appointment page. Please remain available to take our call.

Text Message Appointment Reminders

We are now able to text you to remind you of a forthcoming appointment. If you would like to register for this service, please speak to reception so that they can record your consent for this. Please also remember to inform reception of any contact number changes.

Please ensure that you are available to answer your telephone when the clinician returns your call.

Urgent Appointments

We operate a same day on-call GP service for urgent medical problems. Please do not request these appointments for non-urgent medical conditions as this prevents us from dealing with genuine medical emergencies. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, call 999 immediately.

01507 358623 - ask our team for an on-line log-in to book your own appointments.

Talk to our receptionists

Our reception team should be the first point of call for all your enquiries. They are trained to assist you so please provide them with as much information as they ask for. When booking an appointment, you may be asked for the reason for your appointment. This is to ensure that you are booked to see the most appropriate clinician.

Consultation tips

Always start with the most important query first.

One problem at a time please as a thorough assessment & careful consideration is required by our clinicians.

Multiple problems, or additional necessary clinical reviews, may require further appointments – be prepared for this.

A telephone appointment may be more appropriate & more easily accommodated – especially for queries and advice.

Where possible patients with language barriers are encouraged to tell reception before the consultation starts – if you have a hearing aid please wear it.

Please bring with you any new hospital correspondence or medications to your appointment as hospital letters may not arrive promptly.

Please let the surgery know in advance if you cannot make your appointment or are held up with any short delay as lateness means that you may be asked to re-book.

Routine appointments will be accommodated with a named clinician where available, emergency appointments may not.
